1 c. margarine
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. almond extract
red food coloring
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 oz. melted unsweetened chocolate
Preparation

Cream margarine, sugar, egg and vanilla.
Add flour, baking powder and salt.
Beat until blended.
Line a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with wax paper.
Spoon 1/3 of dough into a small bowl.
Add almond extract and 5 drops red food coloring.
Stir until blended. Spread evenly into prepared pan.
Spoon half of remaining dough into small bowl.
Stir in nuts.
Spread evenly over dough in pan. Melt chocolate.
Stir into remaining dough.
Spread evenly over dough in pan.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
