2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c. butter flavor Crisco
2 eggs
1/2 c. shelled sunflower seeds
1 c. wheat germ
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. rolled oats
1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation

Spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
Combine flour and baking soda and set aside.
In a large bowl, cream the shortening, brown sugar, vanilla and eggs.
Add flour mixture.
Blend well with mixer.
Add by hand the remaining ingredients.
Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from cookie sheets and cool.
