Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. pitted dates (1/2 lb.)
1 1/2 c. boiling water
3 Tbsp. butter
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1/2 to 1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Cut dates in fourths.
Add butter.
Pour boiling water over dates and butter; let cool.
Stir in dry ingredients, egg, vanilla and nuts; mix lightly.
Bake in a large, greased loaf pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour, or until done.
Serve with cream cheese.
