Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 Tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs; beat until well mixed.
Add flour.
Mix together the soda, cream of tartar, milk and vanilla; add to dry ingredients.
Chill dough; cut on very lightly floured cutting surface.
Bake at 325\u00b0 until lightly browned.
