Pistachio Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. chopped dates
1 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped, shelled natural pistachios
1 tsp. each: baking powder and baking soda
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
1 tsp. each: vanilla and grated orange peel
Preparation

Soak dates in hot water.
Cool.
Combine flour, pistachios, sugar, baking soda and salt.
Combine date mixture, eggs, butter, vanilla and orange peel.
Add to flour mixture.
Mix only until moistened.
Spoon into 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch greased loaf pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes or until pick comes out clean. Yields 1 loaf.
