Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. each: cinnamon, ginger and soda
1/4 tsp. cloves and salt
2 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Combine and blend sugar and butter.
Beat in egg, molasses and sour milk.
Sift together cinnamon, ginger, soda, salt, cloves and flour.
Add to liquid mix and blend.
