Holiday Date Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Prepare loaf pan by lightly greasing and coating with plain bread crumbs.
    Mix chopped dates with water and baking soda; let cool.
    Beat eggs; add sugar.
    Add date mixture; stir thoroughly. Gradually add flour, baking powder, salt and pecans.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
