Candy Canes Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 tsp. red food coloring
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. butter
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. powdered sugar
Preparation
    Mix all the ingredients, except the red food coloring.
    Divide the dough in half.
    Add the red food coloring to one half of the dough.
    Roll approximately 1 teaspoon of each color dough in 4-inch strips.
    Twine the two colors together to get candy cane effect.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Curve top down.
    Bake 9 minutes at 375\u00b0.
