Communion Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
dash of salt
2 Tbsp. shortening
3 Tbsp. ice water
Preparation

Combine flour and salt.
Cut in shortening with a pastry blender or 2 knives.
Sprinkle ice water over mixture, 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring just enough to mix.
Stir into a ball.
Roll out as thinly as possible on a floured surface (1/8-inch thick or less).
Transfer to a cookie sheet.
Use sharp edge of knife to cut into desired size.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 15 minutes, then turn oven off and let bread remain in oven until edges begin to brown.
Remove from oven to cool, then separate pieces and store in airtight container.
This recipe makes 600 pieces if cut 1/2 x 1/4 inch.
