Steamed Brown Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. corn meal
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. molasses
2 Tbsp. vinegar
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Mix all together.
Pour into 2 cans (such as peach or bean cans).
Steam for 3 hours in covered kettle with water 2/3 up cans.
If cooked in smaller cans, steam for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Serve with beans.
