English Coffee Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, separated
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add egg yolk and vanilla; beat well.
    Mix in flour.
    Spread cookie dough evenly over greased
    cookie sheet (approximately 12 x 14-inch). Brush beaten egg whites over top of dough and sprinkle over chopped nuts.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
    Let cool 5 minutes.
    Cut when warm.
