Ingredients

1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, separated
2 c. unsifted flour
1/4 c. whiskey or 1/8 c. whiskey and 1/8 c. milk
3/4 c. chopped nuts, almonds or pecans
Preparation

Mix ingredients in order given.
Divide dough in half and pat in a jelly roll pan or cookie sheet.
Beat egg white on a flat plate with a fork until frothy.
Brush on dough and sprinkle with nuts; sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375\u00b0 or until edges brown.
Cool slightly and cut into squares or triangles.
