Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. each: baking soda, powder and vanilla
1 c. coconut
2 c. oatmeal or 3/4 c. Quick Quaker oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Blend sugar and shortening.
Add eggs.
Sift dry ingredients and add to mixture.
Add vanilla, coconut, oatmeal and nuts.
Mix well.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 8 minutes.
Drop by teaspoon. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
Drop teaspoon onto cookie sheet.
