Ingredients

3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter or margarine
1 egg
1 (9 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
Preparation

Combine dry ingredients.
In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar and shortening.
Add egg and pineapple with juice; beat well. Stir dry ingredients into beaten mixture.
Chill at least 1 hour. Drop with spoon onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
