Apricot Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 can apricot nectar
1 1/2 c. chopped dates
1/3 c. dried apricots, chopped
1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/3 c. cream
1/2 c. chopped nutmeats
Preparation

Mix nectar, dates and apricots in saucepan; simmer for 5 minutes.
Add orange rind.
Set aside.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together; blend in shortening and sugar.
Add this to the hot mixture.
Add egg, cream and nutmeats.
Mix well.
Pour into 2 bread pans that are well greased, until 2/3rds full.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
Slide out of tins immediately after baking and cool.
