Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

4 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 c. currants or raisins
1 3/4 tsp. caraway seed
2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Combine flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and sugar in a large bowl.
Add butter and cut in with a knife until crumbly or use pastry blender.
Add raisins and caraway seed.
Mix eggs with buttermilk and blend with dry ingredients.
Divide dough in half and shape into 2 round loaves.
Place in an 8-inch cake and pie tin.
Cut crosses on top.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
