Ingredients

1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. oleo
4 eggs (1 at a time)
1 tsp. soda, mixed with 3 Tbsp. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1/2 c. pecans
1/2 c. cooking sherry
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 lb. candied cherries
1 lb. dates
1 lb. candied pineapple
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Mix sugar, oleo, eggs and soda/buttermilk.
Add flour and spices.
Mix, saving 1/4 cup flour to mix with fruit and nuts. Add fruit, nuts and cooking sherry to flour mixture.
With a teaspoon, drop on a cookie sheet in small balls.
Bake 15 minutes at 300\u00b0.
Keeps well in refrigerator.
You don't have to bake all at one time.
