Cranberry Fruit Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 c. vegetable shortening (margarine)
    3/4 c. orange juice
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 tsp. orange zest
    1 c. cranberries, coarsely chopped
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together in bowl. Add shortening and cut in. Combine juice, egg and zest and beat lightly. Add to dry ingredients. Do not overmix.
    Fold in cranberries and nuts.
    Pour into a 9 x 5 x 3-inch greased pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 approximately 1 hour until golden brown and wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on rack 10 minutes, then turn out bread and cool completely.
