Holiday Fruit Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. sour milk
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. pecans
    2 c. candied cherries (1 can red, 1 can green)
    2 c. chopped dates
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix shortening and brown sugar and eggs.
    Add sour milk.
    Sift flour, soda and salt.
    Stir in shortening mixture, add pecans, cherries and dates.
    Chill dough overnight.
    Will keep a long time in refrigerator.
    You can bake part of them at a time.
    Drop by teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased baking tray.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Makes 7 dozen.
