Ingredients

2 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
pinch of salt
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond flavoring
1 c. chocolate or butterscotch chips
1 c. chopped nuts (preferably pecans)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and salt until real stiff.
Add sugar gradually and continue beating at low speed.
Add flavorings, chips and nuts.
Drop by teaspoon onto foil-lined cookie sheet.
Place cookies in preheated oven. Turn off oven and let stand (without opening) at least 5 hours or all night is best.
Makes 2 or 3 dozen.
