Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. water
    2 c. flour (may have to add a little more)
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 tsp. ginger
    4 Tbsp. molasses
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix sugar, spices, shortening, molasses, salt and eggs.
    Add soda, dissolved in 2 tablespoons water.
    Let dough stand for 10 minutes.
    Form into small balls.
    Drop on cookie sheet; flatten each ball and sprinkle with sugar.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
    Makes 3 dozen.
