Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

1 (10 oz.) pkg Pitted Dates, chopped
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 C. Boiling Water
1 Egg, beaten
1 C. Sugar
1\\2 tsp. Salt
2 C. Flour
1 tbsp. Butter, melted
1 tsp. Vanilla
1\\2 C. Walnuts, chopped
Preparation

Mix chopped dates, baking soda and boiling water. Allow to cool.
In separate bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add date mixture. mix with wooden spoon. Add beaten egg and butter, mix. Stir in chopped nuts. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
