Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. peanut butter
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Thoroughly cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in peanut butter.
Sift dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet.
Press with floured fork to make crisscross.
Bake in moderate oven about 10 minutes.
Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
