Crisp Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. plain flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat until well blended. Add the flour, baking powder and salt. Work the ingredients together with a spoon until the dough is smooth. Pinch small pieces of dough and roll into 1-inch balls. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet 2-inches apart. Flatten cookie with the bottom of a glass lightly greased and dipped in sugar. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
