Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked pie shell
    1 qt. fresh strawberries
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    3 drops red food color
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1 1/4 c. cold water
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Combine sugar and half of the cold water in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
    Dissolve cornstarch in remaining cold water, and whisk gradually into syrup mix.
    Cook over low heat until clear, whisking frequently.
    Add salt, lemon juice and food color.
    Pour over berries, stir lightly to coat, and let cool.
    Add to baked pie shell.
    Garnish with whipped cream.
