Ingredients

1 1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sorghum
4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Melt shortening; let cool.
Add sugar, sorghum and eggs.
Beat well.
Add dry ingredients and add to first mixture.
Mix well and chill.
Form into 1-inch balls; roll in granulated sugar.
Place on a greased cookie sheet or these will burn.
Greased sheet must be greased thoroughly.
