Swedish Birds Nest Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter (soft)
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 egg white, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
    jelly
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar and blend.
    Add egg yolk and blend. Stir in flour.
    Roll dough into 1-inch balls, dip in egg white, roll in nuts, place on greased cookie sheet.
    Lightly press into center of balls with tip of teaspoon to form small depression. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 5 minutes, remove from oven and again press centers with teaspoon.
    Bake 15 minutes more.
    Cool, place jelly in centers.
    Makes about 2 dozen.
