Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. oil
1 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. almond extract
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
In large bowl combine 3/4 cup sugar, shortening, oil, milk, almond extract and egg; mix well.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
Spread evenly in ungreased 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan; sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown.
Cool 5 minutes.
Cut into squares.
Makes 4 dozen cookies.
