Cranberry Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
grated rind and juice of 1 orange
2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
hot water
1 beaten egg
1 c. cranberries, cut in half
3/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Sift together first 5 ingredients. Measure juice, rind and shortening. Add hot water to make 3/4 cup liquid. Add this and egg to dry ingredients. Mix well but do not beat. Add cranberries and nuts. Pour into 9 x 5-inch loaf pan, greased on bottom only. Bake at 325\u00b0 for about 1 hour.
