Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. ginger
Preparation

Mix first 4 ingredients. Then sift together rest of ingredients and stir into first mixture. Form balls the size of walnuts. Place about 2-inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375\u00b0. Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
