Apple Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. peeled, grated apples
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. broken walnuts
1 1/2 Tbsp. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 Tbsp. sugar with 2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Cream together sugar and shortening.
Beat in eggs; stir in apples.
In another bowl stir together flour, salt and soda.
Add to creamed mixture and stir well.
Stir in nuts, milk and vanilla. Pour batter in greased loaf pan.
Sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon mixture.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool before slicing.
