Boston Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 pkg. seedless raisins
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Add raisins to boiling water. Simmer for 10 minutes.
    Remove from heat. Add baking soda.
    Let cool awhile.
    Cream remaining ingredients. Combine with raisin mixture. Pour in 3 well-greased cans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes until done.
