Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
3/4 c. sugar
3 large egg yolks
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

With electric mixer at high speed, cream butter until soft. Add sugar gradually, continuing to cream about 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
Add egg yolks and vanilla; beat well.
Add flour in 3 additions; mix well by hand or with electric mixer after each addition; dough will be stiff.
Shape dough into 2 rolls; wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Put in electric cookie maker or put by spoonfuls on cookie sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar if desired.
Bake for 7 to 10 minutes at 400\u00b0 or until just starting to turn light golden around edges, being careful not to overbake.
