Apple Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. baking apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift the first 4 ingredients together. Cream the shortening, sugar and eggs. Add apples, nuts and vanilla.
Stir in the flour mixture.
Pour batter into a 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan. Poke holes on top of the batter with a fork.
Sprinkle top of batter with a mixture of 1/8 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0. Turn pan on side to cool. Yields 1 loaf.
