Icebox Cookies No. 1 - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Thoroughly
    cream
    shortening
    and
    sugars; add egg and beat well.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Add sifted dry ingredients; mix well and shape in rolls 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
    Roll in waxed paper.
    Chill
    several hours or overnight.
    Slice thin. Bake on greased
    cookie
    sheet
    in
    hot
    oven
    at 425\u00b0 for 10 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
