Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sifted powdered sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1 c. pecans
    2 c. candied cherries, cut in halves
Preparation
    Gradually add powdered sugar to butter.
    Cream well. Add 1 unbeaten egg, vanilla and sifted flour.
    Stir in pecans and candied cherries.
    Chill 1 hour.
    Divide dough into 3 parts.
    Shape in rolls and roll in wax paper.
    Chill at least 3 hours.
    Slice for cookies and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake for 13 or 15 minutes until edges begin to show a little brown.
    Will keep in freezer for future use.
