Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Thoroughly cream butter, peanut butter, sugars, egg and vanilla.
Sift together dry ingredients; blend into creamed mixture.
Shape into 1-inch balls.
Roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Press 5 peanut halves atop each, or crisscross with fork tines.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool slightly; remove from pan.
