Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 Tbsp. butter
4 c. flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 3/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 ??? raisins (currants)
1 egg
Preparation

Work butter into flour with fingers.
Add the rest of the dry ingredients and raisins.
Use fingers to do this.
When mixture resembles coarse meal, add egg beaten lightly with buttermilk. Stir with a spoon until well blended.
Dust hands with flour and knead dough for 3 minutes on a floured surface (will be smooth). Cut in half and shape into two balls.
Set on greased baking sheets and flatten slightly and cut a cross into the top with a sharp floured knife.
Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 35 minutes until gold and crisp.
