Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine (1 stick)
1 c. sugar
1 large egg
2 to 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream together butter and sugar.
Then blend in egg; add other ingredients to mixture.
Chill 1 to 2 hours.
Roll dough into 1/8 inch thickness.
Place on cookie sheet and bake in preheated moderate oven at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes approximately 2 dozen cookies about 2 inches in diameter.
