Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1/3 c. soft shortening
    1 1/2 c. dark molasses
    2/3 c. cold water
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl.
    Set aside.
    Cream shortening and brown sugar.
    Add molasses and water.
    Mix well. Add the dry ingredients one cup at a time.
    Cover and chill one hour.
    Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0.
    Sprinkle flour on countertop. Divide the dough into four sections.
    Roll out each section to 1/2-inch thick.
    Cut out circles with the cookie cutter.
    Lift the cookies onto a cookie sheet with a spatula.
    Put cookies 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
    Remove cookies from cookie sheet to cool.
    Do not stack cookies or they will stick together.
