Vanilla Sand Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 sticks butter (3/4 lb.)
    3 c. flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 c. blanched, finely ground almonds
Preparation
    Work all ingredients together with your hands until you have a smooth, stiff paste.
    To form cookies, break off a small chunk, a spoonful.
    Roll into a ball between the palms of your hands. Flatten into a round and you will have a circle with fine, cracked edges.
    Arrange these on baking sheet and press a design in the top if you wish.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for about 25 minutes or until golden in color.
    They complement fresh fruit nicely.
