My Grandma'S Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, well beaten
    2 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    4 1/2 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. cream or evaporated milk
Preparation
    Cream butter separately until it's soft and light.
    Add sugar gradually,
    creaming
    together after each addition until fluffy. When sugar
    and
    butter
    are
    thoroughly blended, add eggs, cream and
    lemon
    rind.
    Beat
    until well blended.
    Sift together dry ingredients.
    Add
    to sugar mixture a little at a time.
    Beat until
    smooth.
    Turn
    dough onto floured board and roll into thin sheet.
    Sprinkle with sugar and cut with cookie cutter.
    Bake in a hot 400\u00b0 oven for 5 minutes.
