Prune Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

16 oz. canned prunes (reserve juice)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. brown or white sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 egg
2 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation

Drain prunes; save liquid.
Add enough water to make 1/2 cup liquid.
Combine with buttermilk; set aside.
Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and wheat flour.
Combine prunes, nuts and 1 cup of dry ingredients.
