Christmas Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1/2 lb. margarine
1 tsp. salt
3 pkg. dry yeast dissolved in warm water
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. candied cherries and pineapple
1 1/2 c. raisins
4 to 5 c. flour to make soft dough
Preparation

Scald milk.
Add sugar, butter and salt, cool to lukewarm.
Add yeast mixture and 3 cups flour.
Let rise 1 hour, then add vanilla and eggs.
Mix fruit and raisins with 1/4 cup flour, add to dough, then add enough flour to handle (about 4 cups).
Knead well and let rise until light.
Put in greased loaf pans.
Let rise until doubled.
Bake 10 minutes at 400\u00b0.
Reduce heat to 325\u00b0 and bake about 40 minutes.
Frost with confectioners sugar.
Makes 2 loaves.
