Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
4 tsp. milk
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla.
Add egg, beat until fluffy.
Stir in milk.
Add dry ingredients into creamed mixture and blend well.
Divide dough in half.
Chill 1 hour.
On floured surface, roll out dough 1/8-inch thick.
Cut in shapes.
Put on cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
Cool and decorate. Yields 2 dozen.
