Ingredients

1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
confectioners sugar
Preparation

Cream shortening; add sugar gradually and beat until light. Add egg.
Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Refrigerate for approximately 15 minutes.
Roll thin on board sprinkled with confectioners sugar (or flour).
Cut with your favorite cookie cutters.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Decorate with colored sugar.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Yield: about 3 dozen cookies.
