Panettone(Italian Holiday Bread) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. milk
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    3 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/3 c. seedless raisins
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. mixed candied fruit
    1/4 c. warm water (not hot)
    1 pkg. yeast
    1/4 c. roasted almonds
    1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
Preparation
    Scald milk; cool to lukewarm.
    Cream butter with sugar and salt.
    Measure warm water into a large mixing bowl.
    Sprinkle yeast in water.
    Stir in lukewarm milk and cream mixture.
    Add beaten eggs and about half the flour.
    Beat until smooth.
    Blend in fruits, almonds and lemon peel.
    Add enough flour to make soft dough.
    Knead until smooth and elastic.
