Grandma Burgess' Banana Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. shortening
2 large very ripe bananas, mashed
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. walnuts (optional)
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 Tbsp. sour milk (combine milk with lemon juice)
1 egg
2 c. flour
Preparation

Cream together brown sugar and shortening.
Add bananas, vanilla and egg.
In separate bowl combine soda, flour, salt and baking powder.
Add sour milk to brown sugar/banana bowl and stir thoroughly.
Add nuts if desired.
Pour into bread pan after spraying generously with Pam.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
