Brown Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. bran cereal
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. raisins or dates or prunes
3 c. buttermilk
3 Tbsp. dark corn syrup
3 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix first 5 ingredients.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Add the rest; mix until flour is dampened.
Fill oiled cans a little more than half full.
Place in cold oven.
Bake at 325\u00b0.
Bake about 40 minutes.
Let set a little before you loosen them.
Run a serrated knife around the sides and they will slowly slide out.
Makes 7 cans.
Tastes better the longer it sets.
Can use more nuts, prunes and raisins.
