Fruit Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. butter
    1 box brown sugar
    3 eggs
    4 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    3 Tbsp. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    2 lb. chopped dates
    1 lb. jar pineapple preserves
    3 lb. pecans (12 c.)
    12 slices pineapple
    1 lb. cherries
Preparation
    Cream butter and sifted sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Add vanilla, milk and preserves.
    Sift flour and soda together and add to butter mixture.
    Have all fruits and nuts cut up into small pieces.
    Roll in extra flour; shake off as much flour as possible. Add to batter.
    Mix with hands until all fruits are well covered. Drop on greased pan.
    Bake in slow 350\u00b0 oven for about 18 minutes.
